If your based in Europe then your streaming options are not quite as diverse as our US cousins. Most Countries now have Netflix as a low cost subscription service, but then we hit a bit of a wall.
Lovefilm streaming. How good is it?
But one service that is modeled pretty much in an identical manner, costs around the same, and has a heavyweight owner in Amazon, is the Lovefilm instant streaming service.
Lovefilm began (just like Netflix), as a DVD by mail company, and is based in the UK but supplies it’s services to Germany and Scandanavia as well. In 2011 the company launched the LOVEFiLM Instant service, and competition heightened with the launch of Netflix UK. Lovefilm is still the number one streaming service in the UK though, with an estimated 2.5 million subscribers against Netflix’s 1.2 million.
Both services have had complaints about the lack of good content on the web based video platforms, but it is recognised that Lovefilm currently have the edge over it’s US based rival.
However, Netflix are frantically securing content deals giving customers a difficult decision to make. So is the Lovefilm service worth getting out the credit card for? Or do have the tools to take your hard earned cash?
